Welcome to Black Line Stables, home of gentle, Registered American Quarter Horses with exceptional breeding, color, conformation, and disposition.  Our breeding program is designed to continue improving upon the fantastic groundwork of two legendary South Dakota American Quarter Horse breeding programs:  Holmes’ Quarter Horses of Plankinton South Dakota and Barrett’s Circle B Ranch of Watertown South Dakota.  Together, these two breeders have over 98 years of American Quarter Horse breeding experience.  The owners of both programs decided they needed to slow down in 2008, so they reluctantly sold most of their breeding stock.  Black Line Stables was fortunate enough to acquire a number of their best breeding mares.  Our goal is to take up where they left off and maximize the potential of their hard work.  So, get a cup of coffee, sit back, and take a tour of Black Line Stables.  Check out the pictures and pedigrees of our exceptional American Quarter Horses.  And of course, if you see something you like in the “FOR SALE” area, please contact us.
